High speed Fyra train stuck again

After a few weeks relatively devoid of problems the new high-speed train that links Brussels with Amsterdam is once again in the news for all the wrong reasons. This time a Fyra train that was on its way from Antwerp to Amsterdam has become stranded near to the Dutch-Belgian border.

A spokeswoman from the Dutch rail operator NS told journalists that the problem has most likely been caused by issues relating to the track rather than the train itself.

The passengers were picked up by another train and taken back to Antwerp. Although the track is still blocked by the train in one direction the service on the stretch of track just inside the Netherlands has been maintained, albeit with some delays.
