SIBLINGSFACTORY: Fashion, art and charity

867

Passionate about fashion and the creative arts, Aymeric Watine and Marie de Moussac wanted to create a coherent and intelligent space in Brussels, where fashion, design and contemporary art can mix – and now they have it. SIBLINGSFACTORY opens its door on September 5 in the heart of the Dansaert neighbourhood.

Having completing his studies in fashion design and modélisme at l’Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne in 2006, Aymeric worked for several ready-to -wear French fashion houses.  Graduate of the French School of Press Officers and Professional Communication in Paris in 2004, Marie worked for eight years in office communication and advertising in Paris and abroad as a project manager.

In 2007, she went to work for an advertising agency in Kabul, Afghanistan, where she met Mehrangais Ehsan, founder of the association Afghanistan Tomorrow, which strives to educate street children in Kabul. To help sustain the association’s work, a portion of the store’s annual turnover will go to them.

The store was designed by the Belgian architect Julien De Smedt and covers 200m2. De Smedt’s agency is comprised of a team of young architects and designers known for, among others, the ski jumping hill at Holmenkollen in Oslo, Norway.

SIBLINGSFACTORY offers a selection of fashion and accessories for men and women not distributed in Belgium, such as Le Mont Saint, Michel, Cuisse de Grenouille and Sandqvist. It sells design and vintage furniture, and there’s a café, a bookstore and changing art exhibitions on the walls
