Top Photographers Exhibit Film Portraits

1122

The photographers showing their work are Stefano De Luigi, Derek Hudson, Emanuele Scorcelletti and Alan Loison and their work includes stylish pictures of stars of the screen such as Johnny Depp, Monica Bellucci, Faye Dunaway, Serge Gainsbourg, Steve McQueen and Sophie Marceau. The show runs until May with the first call in Brussels at the Sofitel Brussels Le Louise before moving on to Amsterdam, London Munich and Rome. It is being run in association with the Parisian gallery Polka Galerie.

Each of the photographers is an expert in portraiture and awards winners and bring their own take on the glamour that is the film world. Loison struck up a relationship with McQueen by tailing the star at 200km/h from Paris to the race track of Le Mans for the 1969 movie of the same name. He also captured beauties like Catherine Deneuve and the director Alfred Hitchcock.

British born Hudson has won the World Press Photo prize twice and covered Cannes for Le Monde from 1997-2000. Scorcelletti has also won the World Press Photo Prize for a picture of actress Sharon Stone, he has taken portraits of Liv Tyler and Monica Belluci.

While Luigi prefers to work in colour and produces what he calls photo essays such as his work “Blanco” or beautiful cityscapes of Moscow among others.

Either a fan of high class and individual portraiture or  thematic landscapes the viewer should have an engrossing time.
